Connecting the Dots in The Wake of the Charlie Kirk Murder
By Freya Jaager and Joe Hawkins
At a little after noon on September 10th 2025, right wing celebrity Charlie Kirk was shot and killed. Kirk had just begun one of his infamous speaking events at the Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. According to video footage recorded by audience goers and reports from local law enforcement, a single shot from 200 yards away pierced his neck. This killing has sparked condemnation from political parties, public figures, celebrities and countless every day people from across the political spectrum. There have been multiple people detained and released by police officers including one audience member immediately after the shooting. It is not clear if the shooter was working lone wolf or had accomplices. There has been no confirmation of a motive for this assassination. Predictably the Trump administration and its allies have issued statements accusing “left wing political violence” of Kirk’s murder and hailing him as a martyr.
This article is not a who dunnit piece. Its purpose is to connect dots that the mainstream media cannot detect or refuses to connect. There is a larger picture here, and by failing to connect the dots most media reports coming out about Kirk simply reinforce what the ruling elite want. Let us first take a brief look at who Charlie Kirk was and how he came into his political power, what kind of legacy he leaves behind, and then study what ensues in the aftermath of his murder, and end with the question everyone needs to move forward: what is to be done?
Political Genesis
There has been a concerted effort to put positive spin on Kirk's early years. This appears to be done to present him as a naturally disaffected conservative youth, who took on the liberal establishment. We do know Kirk was from the Chicago suburbs of Arlington Heights and Prospect Heights. His father was an architect who owned a firm that built luxury homes. The family home was a five bedroom mansion. The 2008 housing crash and Barack Obama's election both seem to have influenced Kirk's world view. This was a time of deep radicalization for well off white Americans. He attended Wheeling High School in Illinois, and by many accounts was influenced by far right talking points. Classmates describe him as being “rude”, “arrogant”, “disruptive” and that he would regularly call teachers who disagreed with him “neo-Marxists”. During his junior year Kirk volunteered for the successful Senate campaign of Mark Kirk (R-Illinois), and in his senior year he wrote an opinion piece alleging liberal bias in high school textbooks. This writing was published by Breitbart News, leading to his first media appearance on Fox Business. At around the same time he became connected with an old Tea Party influencer named Bill Montgomery. A few months later, 18 year old Kirk and 71 year old Montgomery co-founded the Proto-fascist youth group Turning Point USA (TPUSA).
Kirk applied for and was rejected from West Point Military Academy. He began claiming, without providing evidence, that he was passed over for a “black woman” thus starting his racist campaign designed to attack the credibility of any non white person by framing their jobs as a result of affirmative action. This became a cornerstone of his ideology and recruitment efforts.
He attended the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa Bay, Florida where he met with right wing multimillionaire investor and donor Foster Freiss. This event led to a substantial influx of cash into his political activism. It is reported that Montgomery then convinced Kirk to take a year off from school and travel the right wing political circuits promoting TPUSA and connecting with financial donors. It is at this time that he started organizing and hosting debates on college campuses between republican and democrat students.
In 2016 Kirk joined the first Trump presidential campaign where he worked as a personal assistant to Donald Trump Jr., the two reportedly becoming friends. It is at this time that he launched Turning Point Action Inc., a 501(c)(4), as a political action group linked to his existing TPUSA non profit. It is believed that this new non profit allowed him to tap into a deeper side of the far right “dark money” networks. As the ties to shady political donations grew, so did his campus level organizing. This is a clear example of a group receiving establishment funds while pretending to be a grassroots organization.
The narrative that Kirk was a “grass roots conservative organizer” is currently being pushed by the media, members of both American ruling political parties, the Libertarian Party, and all those who donated to his organizations. This is being done to give his legacy legitimacy and to further gloss over his ties to hate organizations and Proto-fascist seeding. TPUSA is one of the most influential far right organizations in the USA, boasting a presence on over 4,000 college campuses and high schools. As such they have helped to radicalize and recruit countless members of white nationalist and Christian nationalist groups. Through their donations, they funded internet disinformation campaigns against a staggering number of topics including the covid-19 epidemic and Trump’s failed presidential election in 2020.
Core Tactic 1: Debate as Propaganda
The main staple of TPUSA’s public facing work has been the “open debate” between ‘left’ and ‘right’ leaning students. Kirk started doing this in high school and was met with great success. The rise of social media and platforms such as YouTube allowed him to platform clips of himself winning political arguments. Crowd participation became more important as these events grew. It did not matter if Kirk won the argument, so long as he pushed his neo-fascist agenda his message was allowed to spread. In fact, when someone presented him with evidence countering his point or the crowd booed him he would play victim and appeal to others who felt that lefties or universities were holding them down by being unable to accept the “truth”. The framing of education in the US as a liberal brainwashing center is a part of a larger effort to crack down on public institutions that is being carried out by the current administration. Make no mistake about it- these antics are never about free speech only about political domination and the encouragement of state sponsored political violence against those whose views are not aligned with the far right. A prime example of this is how the “conservative free speech crowd” has responded to the pro Palestine movement on college campuses. They call for the attacking of all encampments, demonstrations, organizers and their families. The government for its part responds with protecting those who attack anyone who supports Palestine, or even those who call for the end of the genocide, in an unprecedented large scale effort that systematically sweeps the nation. This includes arrests, expulsions from colleges, and deportations. Then they circle back to squeeze the educational institutions by canceling or withholding needed federal funds. This blatant double standard speaks volumes to their true beliefs in Free Speech.
The public “debate” events allowed Kirk and TPUSA to push their own particularly vile political ideology. One that is aligned with white supremacy, misogyny, Christian nationalism and other forms of hate. Through the use of cherry picked statistics and half truths they deliberately seek to shape the discourse while revising history. This directly connects him to the current administration’s assault on society. We can take an abbreviated look at a few of these.
The Great Replacement Theory
Kirk had long been an advocate for this once fringe conspiracy theory that has become a fairly accepted mainstream ideology. This “theory” pushes the idea that masses of immigrants are being brought into the US in order to influence electoral politics and replace the white race as the dominant race. In the 90’s this was just the kind of crack pot racist doggy doo you would find on a Klan flier, now it is debated on mainstream new channels. Kirk helped bring this into every household’s TV through pushing his demographic shift statistics. This theory also accuses liberal Jewish groups as orchestrating it. This plays on the most reactionary fears of Americans and divides people of different races by demonizing immigrants and Jews.
Anti-Choice Magniloquence
Another favorite talking point of Kirk’s was his staunch anti-choice rhetoric. Throughout his political career he used the “abortion is worse than the holocaust” arguments to claim moral superiority over those debating him. He grandstanded President Trump’s Supreme Court nominations and their rulings that removed the landmark Roe v Wade case, which effectively removed federal protection of the right to an abortion. He was famously quoted as saying he would force his own 10 year old daughter to carry a baby if she was impregnated after being raped.
Misogyny Schizogeny
Kirk’s blatantly misogynist points of view were a common theme. He called for women to stop working and return to being child bearing wives. Often he would undermine liberal or democrat women by using this argument. His flippant responses were designed to shut down women by making fun of them. This was popular with his base because it played on the slighted white male excuse for why college students in particular face a bleak future after graduation. He did all of this while calling for the outlawing of all abortion providers and the prosecution of doctors who performed the related medical procedures. This is part of a larger right wing effort to destroy women’s health clinics and treatments. It hearkens back to the dark ages where science was abandoned for religious zeal, often with fatal results.
As part of his misogynist worldview, homophobia and transphobia is also featured heavily in his events. Both of these are designed to appeal to Christians and students who grew up in socially conservative households. By blaming these folks for social ills, he conveniently ignored the blatant sexual abuse perpetrated by leaders and lobbyists in this country, such as President Trump. This is a classic case of accusing your opponents of something that your side does, in order to appear to be on the side of the victims and those who may become victimized. He also pushed for the defunding then banning of healthcare to these communities and the removal of these individuals from the military.
Playing With Crime Stats
Another of Kirk’s common arguments centers around the racial aspect of crime statistics. This was done under the guise of being “pro second amendment”. By utilizing white supremacist talking points around gun violence, he would obscure the calls for gun control by suggesting non white groups were inferior and responsible for gun violence. For the ease of argument in this article, we refer to folks as being on a political spectrum of “left” and “right”, we will use the term “mainstream left” to identify the political establishment left. It is important to understand that in the US, the mainstream left would be considered center right in the rest of the world. They often act against the interests of all people for the benefit of the ruling elite. They diligently wage the culture wars to distract from the fact that they have always eroded rights, pushed brutal authoritarian policing, mass incarceration, and a military industrial complex to wage its wars of profit. Unlike the left, the mainstream left often shy’s away from talking about crime statistics. It could be because most of them do not possess firearms, but we believe they do so for a more nuanced reason: because they do not want true liberation for black and brown communities, preferring to ignore the systemic racism that keeps these communities living under what appears to be, statistically speaking, disproportionate levels of violence. Crime statistics are strikingly class based, so these arguments also play into dividing poor and marginalized white communities who have similar levels of violence and incarceration. This benefits the ruling elite, whether they claim right or left wing, the main goal is to maintain and grow their personal power.
By making such crude accusations about folks- defining them by their crime stats- Kirk then used this talking point to undermine the credibility of any person of color with a differing opinion. Often times he would phrase it as “I would question their credentials.” This white supremacist view again undermines the individual, the groups they belong to, and the democrat or left wing of this country. One example he used was that if he encountered a black pilot he would question their “credentials” and wonder if they weren't just a “diversity hire”. By pushing these talking points he was solidifying white supremacy.
Kirk’s list of topics is much longer but we seek to highlight the common themes. He weft threaded these themes together to form a larger tapestry, often times using multiple arguments at once. This combination recruited young people who grew up with one or more similar beliefs, then introduces them to the other beliefs. For example, he successfully brought white supremacist ideology to countless young people who related to him through anti-choice. He utilized these arguments to become one of the most prolific neo-fascists of our time.
Core Tactic 2: Harassment and Intimidation
Kirk's second core tactic is the Professor Watchlist that TPUSA publishes. Through this online resource tool the organization has sought to censor, intimidate and remove university faculty that hold opposing views. There are numerous examples of professors and their families becoming targets for extreme threats, harassment, and income loss. This has lead to firings, denial of access to campus workplace, and voluntary resignation. The sheer scope of the project is incredible, when you search by school a list of profiles come up. Included is a picture of the targeted individual and a breakdown of why TPUSA opposes them. The volume, uniformity and professional layout is well funded financially. Every disgruntled college kid’s revenge dream come true, the organization utilizes students to gather information, submit profiles and engage in campaigns of harassment and intimidation. Paid staffers ensure the Professor Watchlist runs smoothly.
Predictably this list’s lineup is disproportionately comprised of female, non white, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. The ruthless way TPUSA members go about their campaigns of intimidation and harassment speak to the true ideology of the group. If we merely take this project at a surface level it is crystal clear that this is censorship and historical revisionism.
Core Tactic 3: Victimhood
TPUSA engages in a popular right wing belief of victimhood. The persistent mindset of viewing yourself as a victim of others’ actions, even when evidence suggests otherwise, is incredibly popular with younger generations facing a bleak future in a system that is rapidly declining. They refuse to look at how the billionaire class has been draining our rights and freedom for decades. Or to even peek at the history behind many of those rights. Epic battles by the American population against segregation, monopolies, the 5 day work week, worker unions, the right of women to vote, to receive medical care such as abortion services, are all ignored for some cry baby cherry picked history while deep throating the brown loafers of the ruling elite and the forces they employ to maintain dominance over the world. History has shown that victimhood has also lead to direct incitement, attempt, and complicity in genocide.
Fascists By Another Name
Five years after TPUSA was founded, Kirk felt the need to publicly distance from the more radical racist personalities and groups of the right wing. This was and continues to be a tactic used by neo-fascists to obscure their true beliefs in order to avoid mainstream rejection. In 2019 TPUSA fired one of their organizers after she was pictured with white nationalist Nick Fuentes. She was used as a publicity stunt in order to maintain their groups and influence. Individual TPUSA chapters continued to host various speakers associated with Nick Fuentes and other fascist organizations.
For decades society has been bogged down debating which groups or individuals are “fascist”. Even the word itself sparks heated debate. This has only served to allow fascists into our every day lives. The authors of this article, having each worked to counter local & national fascist activity for over 25 years, speak from experience when stating that the different faces of fascism all have their unique dangers and characteristics. From the Klan to organized hate clubs masquerading as “skinheads” there was a street level demonstration and violence that followed everywhere they showed their faces in the light of day. Figures such as David Duke, Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, and Matthew Hale were all active in trying to bring fascist ideology into mainstream politics. The evolution of the alt-right, then the alt-light, was yet another attempt to legitimize their empty ideology while maintaining their ties to the more open hate groups and figureheads. Decades later, suit and tie wearing fascists are still fascists.
It is important to differentiate Kirk and TPUSA from the way in which we view the larger neo-facsist movements. They have maintained a tremendous amount of plausible deniability while avoiding public scandals that have plagued other neo-fascist groups such as the Proud Boys, Patriot Front and many other openly neo-nazi groups. TPUSA’s rise coincided with the perfect storm of reactionary fear, billionaire wealth/power grabs, university corruption, and the cult of personality that is our President Trump. Through establishing themselves as an extremely well funded legitimate campus based organization they have convinced society that they are not a neo-fascist group. The fact remains that these groups push a fascist agenda of massive Christian nationalist government who openly represses, censures, imprisons and murders those who do not fit within the confines of their ideology. Even though groups like TPUSA are more acceptable to the mainstream public they are advocating key components of a fascist society while pushing political direct action on the streets. Whenever you pair racial superiority, misogyny, homophobia and governmental power, fascist ideology will rise. The details of what economic, political, social or religious systems these people seek to build is completely irrelevant. They are all fascists in the end and must be treated as such.
Although not commonly televised, TPUSA events have always been countered by everyday people who reject their ideology. Antifascists have been confronting Kirk and TPUSA events the entire time they have existed. Black teenagers have lead battles with their school admin to remove rooting TPUSA chapters from their high school buildings. College campuses provided the perfect shelter for Kirk to organize, indoctrinate and incorporate its members into the republican party. The failure of mainstream leftists and democrats to take this threat seriously is just another symptom of how complicit they have been in the authoritarian power grab that benefits corporations and the oligarchy. By parroting Kirk and TPUSA talking points about free speech and constitutional protections, the media, higher education and the ruling elite gained important access to young minds who would enter the political establishment, pre-indoctrination, to a new form of American government ruled by the far right. The already existing corruption and corporate rule has ensured this new way would be extremely profitable for the few at the expense of the many. Through the privatization and “industrial complexification” of our society the ruling elite have continued the legacy of class domination and white supremacy this country was founded on. The current administration has only accelerated the authoritarian power grab that was laid before them, brick by brick, or rather, seat by seat.

Kirk and TPUSA’s long history of legitimizing far right figures through their endorsements and campus tours is the ideological equivalent of laundering drug money. Since they first started hosting speaking events they have utilized the university system to give pay checks and publicity to those spewing various forms of fascism. Often times these speakers claimed to be on “truth telling” missions. At best they are grifters and at worst they are waging the culture war. Many of these events have triggered demonstrations against the speakers or groups affiliated with them. While TPUSA never officially endorsed it, there are many instances when known members of hate groups or neo-nazi crews have shown up to a TPUSA event looking to trigger a violent confrontation with those who show up to demonstrate against TPUSA’s speakers. In a substantial portion of these confrontations the fascist who came for violence attacked demonstrators, who were unprepared for a fight, then sought help from security or police to escape. Although not commonly televised, in the vast majority of these cases the demonstrators against TPUSA’s events vastly outnumbered the event attendees. The protection of the right wing aggressors is in line with how the universities and police view left wing activism and demonstrations. Just as US laws violating civil liberties were passed following 9-11 to increase the ability to “fight terrorism”, the current administration has significantly fortified and works to expand similar laws, through its designation of “Antifa” as a “terrorist organization” and anyone critical of the state of Israel is antisemitic thus open to legal repercussions including hate crimes charges.
Through the multi pronged strategy of running and maintaining a massive youth movement, a non profit, political action comity, lobbying, Christian nationalist org, events and direct ties to the far right republican political apparatus, Kirk helped to fuel the culture wars that have directly aided President Trump’s return to power. It seems as if they have become “too big to fail” with hands inside of all aspects of the right wing political party. It is entirely possible that this massive organization is just carrying out the wishes of its extremely wealthy donors and their own political interest.
THE AFTERMATH
On the day Kirk was killed, President Trump released a video message to the public in which he praised Kirk and blamed his death on “radical left political violence.” The President connects Kirk’s death to his own alleged assassination attempt, the assassination of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, and attacks on ICE agents and police. This is type of statement appears aimed at presenting the American public with an enemy and also one that the government will be going after. This statement leaves out the political assassinations factually proven to have occurred by the hands of right wing individuals including those of State Representative Melissa Hortman (D-Minnesota) along with her husband and dog, and the non-fatal shootings of State Senator John Hoffman (D-Minnesota) and his wife by the same attacker. These attacks included shots fired at police and led to the largest manhunt in Minnesota history. Unlike Trump’s actions around Kirk, he refused to even phone the democratic Governor of MN to discuss these events.
Trumps pledge to go after all those who attack ICE agents and law enforcement officers is laughable in light of his pardon of 1,500 January 6 rioters, many of whom are seen on video attacking police officers. This is all in line with the current administration’s blatant authoritarian power grab. Demonize your opponent while protecting some of your most hardline and active supporters.
Also on the night of September 10, a former Active Club member Ryan Sanchez organized a vigil for Kirk in Huntington Beach CA.

During this event the participants started chanting slogans including “white man fight back” under American, republican, Jesus and Trump flags. Sanchez has attended TPUSA events in the past including the December 2022 AmericaFest, held in Phoenix Arizona. Over the following weekend Huntington Beach held multiple vigils for Kirk. By September 13th various neo-fascist groups had started attending, including Patriot Front in full uniform, face coverings and flags. At this event at least one man was assaulted by vigil attendees.
In the days following Kirk's murder, the rhetoric from the right wing and republicans has been and will be explicitly calling for violent reprisals against the “left”. The Trump administration without missing a beat claimed that ammunition was found with “pro-trans” and “antifa” messages engraved on them. From elected officials to random citizens, we hear a narrative that civil war has broken out. All the while seeking to enshrine Kirk as a martyr for their cause. Sticking to their fence-walking script, Democrats denounced the shooting making statements about how there is no place for political violence in our society.
There is a danger that those in the current administration will attempt to turn Kirk into a 2025 American Horst Wessel. Wessel was a member of the Sturmabteilung (Storm Detachment or SA), the paramilitary wing of the German National Socialist Party (Nazi), who was shot in the head in 1930. Even as Wessel was lying seriously wounded in the hospital, Joseph Goebbels, the party’s appointed regional leader of Berlin, was already releasing reports asserting that those who had carried out the attack were “degenerate communist subhumans”. His death became a rallying cry for the Nazi party. The Nazi propaganda machine effectively spun him as a hero murdered by leftists hell bent on keeping their political party from saving the country. The Nazi party made the Horst Wessel song, “Die Fahne Hock, Horst Wessel Lied” [Raise the Flag, Horst Wessel song] its anthem. After the Nazi Party gained power in Germany it elevated this song to a Co-National Anthem. Yet according to eye witness accounts, Wessel was shot by a pimp who’s woman Wessel stole and earned money from the “procurement”. He was nothing more than a racist murdered while acting out of pocket with women who may or may not have been sex workers.
With the arrest and apparent confession of Tyler Robinson just two days after Kirk’s death, the right wing calls for civil war have dramatically dropped off. Robinson appears to be a white Mormon who grew up with a preacher ex cop for a father. He has donated to the Trump campaign. He appears to have been a part of the Groyper movement. The messages allegedly carved into the rounds found at the scene of Kirk’s murder are common in the far right meme sphere. Multiple of them are directly linked to Groyper message boards. As the right tries to distance themselves from Robinson it is clear that he was no leftist, by any stretch. In the weeks before the murder Robinson was active, per usual, on Groyper message boards. He allegedly participated in doxing people he disagreed with. Undoubtedly the far right will find a way to spin him as having some kind of left wing ideology. All while the mainstream left will claim this is another case of a fascist killing another fascist who wasn't extreme enough. We caution against such an over simplified analysis. Meme “culture” mass shooters are becoming disturbingly common. There are many competing ideas of why this could be happening. We maintain that when fascists go undisputed and accepted this kind of violence is inevitable.
As the right, the mainstream left, and the media continue to search for motivation behind the killing of Kirk we see a familiar pattern of attempting to tie him to the left or a left ideology. The current administration appears to be trying to make a Wessel type figure out of him, awarding him posthumously the Presidential Medal of Honor, flags flied at half mast across the country and Trump pledging to attend his funeral. While mainstream left place all blame on a lack of totalitarian gun control and ignore his blatantly fascist agenda. The media just parrots conservative talking points never really taking responsibility in pushing the anti-left narrative they reported as truth in the immediate aftermath of Kirk's murder. All of these are clear examples of how our ruling elite propulse a divisive agenda designed to allow neo-fascist ideology to be spread to this country and the world.
At the time of this writing, Kirk’s recent shift from being unwavering pro Israel to becoming critical of Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people is just starting to be understood. It is possible that recent publicity on the plight of Christian Palestinians aided in changing his mind. Kirk was not uneducated. When one looks into that horrific history, it is easy to reject the state of Israel’s narrative. In the few months leading up to Kirk’s murder it is alleged that not only did Kirk reject a huge donation scheme from Benjamin Netanyahu, but he became an outspoken critic of the genocide of Palestinians, Israel’s official account of the October 7th, and even went so far as to assert that the Palestinian people have a right to armed resistance against the state of Israel.
Two days after Kirk’s death a new leader of TPUSA was announced. Notorious far right co-founder of The Daily Wire, Ben Shapiro, a self proclaimed Zionist and die hard state of Israel supporter is now in charge. Kirk had publicly disagreed with Shapiro over Israel in the month leading up to his death.
Where Do We Go From Here
For at least fifty years now, the situation is that far-right politics have been traveling from the margin to the center. The road was a slow and often failing journey. Today however, the far right has removed their gloves, having daily political and material victories. Hopelessness can easily consume one’s life, and in fighting against that consummation, finding practical ways to keep your family, your neighbors, and humanity safe and secure from today’s fascism is a guiltless way to live. This preparedness could look like housing security, food security, job/income security, contingency plans in every which way that you devise with your loved ones.
What about on the political action level? Agreeing on the enemy and recognizing their threats is the first necessary step. Once that is acknowledged, being able to practice community self defense is ideal, though very difficult for some to fathom. Scroll back to the two instances of “although not commonly televised” in this article. There is where hope can be seen. Directly confronting public displays of fascism through a myriad of tactics is a correct reaction.
It is 2025, and the incoming administration had transparent laid out plans for a right wing take over of the government prior to their election. The Heritage Foundation, a mix of far right, civic nationalists and Christian nationalists, published this political initiative named “Project 2025”. We do not know how many of the authors of this plan were TPUSA members or supporters, but what we can see is that this is the form of suit and tie neo-fascism that has had the most success in this country. Today we see Trump’s massive expansion of ICE as being a private enforcement agency to carry out his decrees free from the checks and balances already in place. The US Supreme Court routinely rules against the interests of the American people, often along disturbing political lines. The political rhetoric around homelessness and mental illness is akin to that of Nazi Germany, with one predominant mainstream news agency anchor recently suggesting, on air, “involuntary lethal injection” for homeless or chronically mentally ill people. Blatantly authoritarian Executive Orders, that would have been considered unhinged not that long ago, are being enforced with no regard for the law or more importantly if they are just. Palantir Technologies, the Silicone Valley software company known for providing military intelligence for the US and its allies, is now used by public and private sector organizations across the world. Palantir's spy tech is now set to power the Trump administration’s priorities, with a massive contract aimed at utilizing AI for mass surveillance. Far right hate groups continue to rally and grow, attacking people who do not agree with their world view or dare to challenge them. The ongoing genocide in Palestine, Sudan and the Congo are being committed with western weapons and technology. Those who speak out against these crimes against humanity are being criminalized and attacked with the full weight of these western governments.
Many on the left have warned against this scenario for far too many years. For example, the National Organization for Women rallied since 1966 aimed “to get economic equality and securing it with an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will guarantee equal rights for women; championing abortion rights, reproductive justice along with other women’s health issues; opposing racism; fighting discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in all areas, including employment, housing, health services, and child custody; and ending violence against all women, no matter race, age, or socioeconomic class.” The Supreme Court overturned Roe V. Wade in 2022, and immediately many states banned the medical procedure or strangled access to it. This was only possible because of the concerted effort to replace supreme court justices with those who hold deep seeded anti-choice religious convictions. Planned Parenthood lost their recent counterclaim in Federal Court, and the Trump administration has officially blocked the usage of Medicaid as insurance that could be used at the single largest women's health provider in the country, affecting 1.1 million patients.
All of this is the result of the normalization of fascist ideas. Both political parties inside of the US limits the power of citizens, fails to provide basic human rights such as healthcare, and are propped up by the ruling elite, corporations, and foreign interests. Most Americans have little to no comprehension that this has become our system of government.
In spite of all of this we must fight back. There is a role for every person to oppose this neo-fascist take over of our country. From educating ourselves to supporting our communities, to basic human decency- there are daily actions we can take. Action is the antidote to despair. Directly confronting public displays of fascism, whenever one can get away with it, will always be worth it. And sometimes, when you didn’t get away with it, it may still be worth it.
In all struggles, being able to identify the enemy is paramount to wining. Re-framing the way we view our world and the actors in it is a must. Recognizing the seemingly innocuous groups such as TPUSA for what they actually are- the well funded youth movement of the neo-fascist ruling elite- is important to deal directly with them but also to educate those around us of their dangers.
This is a struggle we cannot afford to lose or sleep on. As you read this there is a fascist networking, recruiting, and getting swole. Do the same, but turn that despair into the motivation needed to counter these people who seek absolute rule over a dystopian hellscape. No matter who you are, what you think, or what your physical and mental capabilities are, there is a role for you in the resistance to this new fascism.

Beautifully written and on point…… too often folks on “the left” point to Trump as a fascist but rarely point out how groups like toilet paper USA normalize fascist ideology that’s more palatable to disgruntled and angry working people, and that normalization is far more dangerous than Trump himself.
